Market Confidence? Market manipulation
I don't know about you but government intervention into the markets, eliminating short selling, leaking memos does not build my confidence in the "free" market. There is no worse market manipulator than New York Senator Charles Schumer and the action he took yesterday. Actions taken by the Secretary of Treasury on behalf of Goldman Sachs is unbelievable, and not one peep from anyone.
I hope anyone with a brain will use this rally and reduce your risk.
Goldman Sachs has produced the last few Secretary's of Treasury, Robert Ruben, Roger Altman and Henry Paulsen: Is there any wonder the financial system looks like a poorly run hedge fund? (Goldman could not profit as they do if all the hedge funds were well run, they prey on the weak.)
The market is stacked against the thinking investor, those that realize our economies financial foundation is a house of cards and the election year pandering by politicians will only delay the inevitable. Consumers, buckle down and live within your means that is the only way to cure the problems our economy has and protect yourself. Start saving a portion of your wages; a tin can, bed or cookie jar is as good as any place to start.
The wolves have been guarding the sheep and feeding on them at will. The titans of wall street should looked upon as oil company CEO's or Enron and Worldcoms' management. I hope that whom ever wins the election this fall picks regulators interested in regulating and a Secertary of the Treasury from some other school than Goldman Sachs.
