2007 Review: My first year of blogging

  1. Buy FXE 129 and below - sell above 147
  2. Over-weight EWJ
  3. Over-weight  EFA
  4. Small caps are suppose to outperform - keep them
  5. Look for growth to outperform value big time in the US
  6. If you must own bonds make sure TIP is included
  7. No ETF choice for interational bonds - I use RPIBX when I want the exposure and I do for bond allocations
  8. Mortgages will hurt returns - avoid at all cost
  9. Buy single Country ETF for emerging market and avoid EEM
  10. Global growth will drive returns for 2007
So those were my top ten nuggets for 2007 in no particular order, (It's a new year, January 2, 2007).  So how did I do?

  1. BULLS-EYE!                                                                                         +++
  2. Push to slight loser                                                                               -
  3. Value add, this was a winner                                                               +
  4. no help, no hurt                                                                                    0
  5. Big time was probably overstated, but some value added                   +
  6. Winner                                                                                                  +
  7. Winner                                                                                                  +
  8. BULLS-EYE!                                                                                         +++
  9. I suppose it would depend what single country you bought?              0
  10. Yep, but how did it add value?                                                             0
As you might guess I am about as pleased as one could get with these market predictions, especially #'s 1 and 8.  I have been working on 2008's expectations and will publish them tomorrow.

As far as blogging goes, it has not created any new business, but traffic is increasing on both the website and blog.  Here is to a better 2008, may your portfolio's return exceed your expectations and needs.
