Times are a changing
The United States House of Representatives passed a $50 billion budget for Iraq, that should be sending a clear message to you investors in the defense sector: SELL
I am not making a forecast on the next Presidential or Congressional elections, but one thing is for sure, after seven years of war in Iraq, our homeland is showing the lack of investment. What I am forecasting is less Federal dollars as a percent of total GDP will be spent on military, the marginal dollar will go elsewhere. Therefore SELL the defense sector.
One more thing concerning the coming election, pay attention to National Security. This morning I heard 19 US International Airports failed to find liquid explosives in a random test of procedures. After how many billions and billions and billions of dollars (thanks Mr. Sagan), does anybody pay attention to what comes and goes in this country? Look for a massive restructuring of National Security, it is a complete joke now and it is difficult to imagine it getting any worse. Who knows anything is possible, so don't have your retirement money there.
